Hello lovelies! This is Kosmeshop!
I got a good opportunity to try the SKINFOOD best seller item- the Black Sugar Mask!
Unlike its name, the Black Sugar Mask isn’t really a mask. In fact, it’s a facial scrub.
The SKINFOOD Black Sugar Wash-Off Mask comes in a cute plastic
jar with a vintage-like styled label on the lid. It is simple,
but I love this kind of design.
The description is written in English and in Korean on the plastic jar.
You can see from the ingredients list that the main ingredient is sugar.
Black sugar contains minerals, vitamins and glycolic acid to help exfoliate the skin.
Below the lid you’ll find another separating plastic lid,
which prevents the product to lick out.
Let’s have a look inside the jar!
In the jar, the scrub appears dense and dark brown.
You will definitely notice the citrusy scent, which I totally didn’t expect!
I scooped some scrub out of the tub – it’s truly as dense as it looks!
The texture of the mask is very interesting.
Admittedly, it has large granules of sugar in the mask,
so it can be very rough on the skin if not used correctly.
Be wary if you have very sensitive skin.
How to use:
After washing, apply desired amount onto face, avoiding eye and mouth areas.
Mix with water or toner to reduce skin irritation, and massage.
Wait 10 to 15 minutes, and then wash off with warm water.
In order to reduce the stimulate my sensitive skin,
I generally mixed it with some water or cleansing water.
You can achieve a nice peeling on your skin while massaging this mask into your skin.
It will heat up a little and after a short while, the sugar granules started to dissolve.
You can see when you massage about 5~10 minutes,
most of sugar granules were melted and disappeared.
The oil will absorbed into skin and the skin became more smooth and moisture.
After I wash off the mask, the skin has a soft feeling.
I don’t have a dry feeling nor is my skin greasy.
I took one more picture after I use it about 3 weeks.
