created by the SAN-X
of Japan in the year 2003.
Rilakkuma is a
compound of English word 'relax' pronounced into
Japanese
'rirakusu' and 'kuma' which means bear in Japanese, and the 3 most
widely known
characters are the large brown bear 'Rilakkuma', small white bear
'Korilakkuma' and
the yellow 'Kiiroitori'.
With its cute
design and setting which can be identified with modern people,
it is very popular
in Japan, Korea, China, Taiwan and other countries in Asia.
